River Conditions

Stream Flow Conditions: These are a great set of pages that contain generated graphs for each river. You can see the flow trend as the river rises or falls. You can also get historical information and graphs for any time that the gauge was active in the past. You can look up river conditions for some of your past trips to correlate with the canoeing gauges. Connecticut - Mass. - Maine  - NH - Vermont

Notes: These pages use several terms that you may want defined:

"Flow" or "Streamflow" is defined as the volume of water that passes a given point within a given period of time. Streamflow is in cubic feet per second.

"Stage" defined as the height of the water surface above an established datum plane; not necessarily referenced to mean sea-level. This is what we refer to a Gauge or Gauge Level, although our gauges do not necessarily match theirs.

"Long-term median flow" defined as the median of the daily-mean flows on this date for the period of record (in cubic feet per second)
