Rental Boats and Trailers

Introduction

To help newcomers experience paddling without a substantial investment, we rent boats for use on our trips. All you need to do to try paddling is sign up for a trip and ask to rent a boat!

Our boats come in three categories, whitewater, sea kayaks, and touring.

Whitewater boats (canoes and kayaks) are designed for whitewater with tough hulls (for hitting rocks) and typically have rocker for quick turning ability. These boats usually have flotation installed.

Note: these boats are restricted to use on up to class II rivers (or up to class III if you have a class III rating or above).

Sea kayaks are long sleek boats with hulls that are designed for going straight on open water. They have foot-activated rudders for tracking or turning assistance. They also have storage compartments for gear.

Touring boats can be kayaks or canoes. They are user-friendly boats suitable for flat-water rivers or open water.

Our New Shredder!

The club is pleased to announce that we have purchased a Shredder to add to our rental fleet. This is a two person inflatable cataraft style paddle boat. It is a very user friendly boat for up to class IV water.

The rental for this boat will be $20/day. It comes with paddles, PFDs, and air pumps (electric & hand pump). Click here to view the Shredder Rental Policy.

Fees - and what's included:

The rental charge is $10 per day for all boats except the sea kayaks (they are $20 per day) and Shredder. The boats are stored in various locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Renters are responsible for picking up and returning the boats to their storage locations in time for their next scheduled use. All rental boats come with the PFDs and paddles. Kayaks also come with spray skirts.

See boat damage policy.
