Spring Meeting in Manchester
Thursday March 22, 2001. 6:30 - 8:30 PM

The Spring Meeting will be held at the PSNH Amoskeag Fishways in Manchester, NH on Thursday March 22, 2001. 6:30 - 8:30 PM. The access to the Fishways is just off the western end of the Amoskeag Bridge in Manchester.

This is our annual Spring get together to meet friends, plan Spring, Summer, and Fall activities as well as tell tall tales about early Spring adventures. This is THE meeting where many summer trips are planned for the up-coming expedition season. Many of these trips are not published and you have to come and talk with your fellow paddlers to hear about them. Dessert Contest This year, the NH AMC Paddlers will run a dessert contest with 3 prizes for those are judged by all to have brought the best desserts. First winner gets first choice of the prizes, etc. Dennis Belliveau, Jeff Lamping, and Rod Dore will each procure a prize, so you know they will be good.

Spring Whitewater Paddling School

by Tom Todd

The Spring Whitewater School is scheduled for April 6-8, 2001 with roughly the same format we've used for many years.

The committee consists of Rod Dore (Chair), Verniel Morin (Registrar), Dick Morin (Logistics), Tom Todd (Instructor Organizer) and Leslie Hollweg (Kitchen Manager).

We've managed to do a lot of organizing via email and web. We will contact other off-line members if needed. If you would like to volunteer to help in any way, please use our special form on our web site: www.nhamcpaddlers.org/school.htm . Those wanting to volunteer their services and don't have on-line access should please call Rod Dore at 603-898-2619.

This is a great time to learn the joys of paddling introductory whitewater as well as improve your skills for handling obstacles while touring. If you are interested or have a friend who is interested in attending this fantastic school, please have them contact Verniel Morin at 603-742-4652 (7 PM - 9 PM) to get an application.
