Thoughts from the Co-ChairBy Dennis Belliveau Driving in a snowstorm can be quite stressful. Even allowing extra time still didn't make me feel any better. It seems as though everyone else should stay home so I can drive to where I'm going without anybody else getting in the way. Of course the slow guy is in front and the fast guy is passing. One way to reduce the stress is to realize that the snowfall is the spring runoff. The more snow we get now the more water we have later. So I say, bring it on! I'll get where I'm going when I get there. As I arrive home I notice that there is a good accumulation of spring runoff in my driveway, with an extra amount right at the road. I figure that it's time to relocate it to a more suitable storage area. Behind canoes, paddles and under life jackets I find the instrument I purchased to relocate my spring runoff. A crude device with plenty of horse power, noise and vibration. Not made for stealth. With that done there is still some runoff that needs relocating. Searching the garage I find another device for relocating the spring run off. The design is some what more pleasing, wide power face at the bottom, long narrow shaft and even a grip handle at the end. Feels kind of comfortable. It isn't long before I realize the motions don't feel quite right. The direction of movement is wrong. Feathering is out of the question. As I finish the cleanup I rate this storm as an easy Class II if we had a little more rain a Class II+. Many thanks to all who participated in the fall business and spring schedule meeting. I have to apologize to all for the delay in getting started. It was amazing to me that the setup for the meeting and potluck was done so efficiently. Everyone's help was greatly appreciated.
