Message from the Chair

By Rod Dore

I was great to see the enthusiasm at our general meeting in November. We had fabulous dishes to share with everyone and I enjoyed sharing the tall paddling stories with you. Thanks to all that stepped up to help with the club chairmanships and to those that are leading trips.

Hope you all have been using this down time wisely. Get your boat(s) repaired and outfitted to have them ready for the spring padding. Perhaps get your NEW boat ready? Don't forget to keep the body in shape to avoid problems after you hit the rivers. The rolling sessions are great way for keeping some critical muscles toned. They also keep you in touch with fellow paddlers.

The volume of snow this season promises to offer great spring run off for paddling. Pray for snow (other than on drive ways and commuting routes) and a slow thaw to make the run off last till May. Check the schedule and start your planning now.

Hope to see a lot of you at the White Water School and of course I'll SYOTR (see you on the rivers).
